Iridescent Gate of Xanadu
Towering arch in pallid sun
Its distant Rooks in vacant glades
Wide hues and tones of every shade
Shimmer silent above the Breeze
Mere echoes born of far off Clouds
Tease low grass and infant trees
Two painted highways: up and down
Locked as destined Path and Crown
The Road beneath lies dry and dun
‘til Tears squall out as Death ensues
